Two Merrick residents were arrested Friday after Nassau County detectives recovered suspected cocaine and ketamine during a narcotics investigation at a home on Garden Place, police said.
According to Nassau County police, detectives with the Narcotics/Vice Squad conducted an investigation at 24 Garden Place in Merrick at approximately 5:20 p.m. on May 9. During the investigation, detectives recovered 28.1 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine along with a pink substance believed to be ketamine inside the residence.
Police said the investigation also focused on multiple alleged narcotics sales conducted on multiple dates.
Nicholas Francis, 29, and Jaime Bunting, 27, both of Merrick, were arrested without incident at the home.
Francis and Bunting were each charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree.
Francis also faces additional charges including three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.
Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance are felony charges under New York State law.
Both defendants were scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
