This year’s Trek Long Island theme is “What Happens on Risa…” and if previous years are any guide, the convention is shaping up to be another packed away mission filled with fandom, parties, cosplay, and plenty of warp-speed fun. Enough fun to make Quark’s Bar get shut down, to make the holodeck short circuit, to make Kirk’s exploits with green-skinned aliens look like a Sunday School lesson, to… well, you get the picture. What happens on Risa during the fourth annual Trek Long Island convention at the Hyatt Regency in Hauppauge from Friday, June 12th through Sunday, June 14th will definitely stay on Risa!
To keep things interesting showrunner, Stefanie Gangone and her able crew have packed the con with a full schedule of events, signings, photo ops and special events. While things are still coming together at warp speed, we’ve taken a look at the fulsome guest list and are happy to report that this year, like most, is a motherload of Trek guests from TOS to Starfleet Academy!
Check it out below and then report to www.treklongisland.com to get your tickets!
Nana Visitor – One of the biggest names from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Visitor is best known as Major Kira Nerys, the fierce former resistance fighter who became one of the franchise’s most complex and beloved characters. Her performance helped define DS9’s darker, more serialized storytelling and remains a fan favorite decades later. Visitor will also host “The Art of Resistance” on Sunday, June 14, an adults-only painting and conversation event inspired by her iconic role as Major Kira Nerys.
Celia Rose Gooding – Gooding stars as a young Nyota Uhura on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, reintroducing one of Star Trek’s most iconic characters to a new generation of fans. Trek LI attendees have been anticipating this appearance after Gooding was previously scheduled for the convention but had to cancel because of filming and scheduling conflicts.
Dan Jeannotte – Jeannotte has become a breakout favorite among Strange New Worlds fans as Sam Kirk, the mustached, often sarcastic brother of future Enterprise captain James T. Kirk. His mix of humor and chemistry with the Enterprise crew has helped make the character one of modern Trek’s most memorable supporting roles.

The character has drawn major attention among Trek fans as one of the franchise’s more unconventional Klingons and its first openly gay Klingon character.
