Suffolk County police are renewing their call for the public’s help as an Elwood man remains missing weeks after he was last seen at his home.
Joseph Competiello, 55, was last seen at his Remsen Street residence on April 2 at approximately 8:30 a.m., according to Second Squad detectives. He was reported missing by a family member later that afternoon at about 2:30 p.m.
Competiello is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall and approximately 160 pounds, with a shaved head and brown eyes. Police said he was believed to be wearing a black North Face jacket, jeans and Skechers sneakers at the time of his disappearance.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, but the case remains active as detectives continue to seek leads.
