A Queens man was arrested in connection with a residential burglary in Syosset that police said resulted in the theft of approximately $210,000 in jewelry and cash.
According to the Nassau County Police Department’s Major Case Squad, the burglary happened on Dec. 19, 2025, at about 6:27 p.m. at a residence in Syosset.
Detectives said Ronald Suarez, 40, of 146-14 25th Drive in Queens, unlawfully entered the home and stole jewelry and currency with a combined value of about $210,000.
Following what police described as an extensive investigation, Suarez was located and arrested by Major Case Squad detectives on May 14, 2026.
Investigators also said Suarez is in the United States illegally and is currently subject to removal proceedings.
Suarez has been charged with second-degree burglary, a felony under New York law. Police also said he has an outstanding arrest warrant for grand larceny in New York City.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday, May 15, 2026, at First District Court in Hempstead.
