A Huntington Station man on probation was arrested Thursday after authorities said officers found multiple weapons and gun-making materials during a probation check at his home.
Suffolk County police said probation officers went to Matthew Hibner’s home at 5 Roxanne Court in Huntington Station at about 7:10 p.m. May 14 and observed weapons and gun-making parts inside.
Second Precinct officers and detectives were called to assist.
Police said investigators recovered four assault rifles, one revolver, one shotgun, one stun gun, high-capacity magazines and gun-making parts. The recovered materials included a drill press, upper and lower receivers, and gun molds.
Hibner, 37, was charged with four counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, 10 counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police said Hibner was on probation for stolen property charges at the time of the arrest.
He was held overnight at the Second Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned May 16 at First District Court in Central Islip.
