A man robbed a Chase Bank in Smithtown after handing a teller a note demanding cash Thursday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.
The robbery occurred at approximately 4 p.m. July 30 at the bank at 705 Smithtown Bypass.
Police said the teller complied with the demand and gave the man cash. The man, described by police as white, then fled the bank on foot.
No weapon was mentioned in the police announcement. Authorities did not disclose how much money was taken.
Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating the robbery.
