Nassau County police are asking for the public’s help locating a wanted fugitive accused of failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
According to police, Robert Sawyer, 57, is wanted for allegedly failing to report a change of address or status within the required 10-day period.
Police said the incident is connected to Roosevelt.
Sawyer is described as a Black male with gray hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.
Authorities cautioned the public not to attempt to apprehend or detain him.
Anyone with information regarding Sawyer’s whereabouts is asked to contact Nassau County police. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-244-TIPS (8477).
The investigation remains ongoing.
