Best Buy Employee Accused Of Sending Woman’s Intimate Photos To His Phone

A Best Buy employee was arrested Wednesday after Suffolk County police said intimate photos were sent from a customer’s phone to his phone without her permission at a Huntington Station store.

Kaelem Von Camper, 31, of Greenlawn, was arrested May 20 at the Second Precinct, police said. The incident occurred at Best Buy, located at 148 Walt Whitman Road, in April.

According to police, a 36-year-old woman went to the store on April 17 at about 10 a.m. to resolve an issue with her cellphone. Police said she was assisted by Von Camper, who worked at the store.

After leaving, the woman received an AirDrop notification indicating that intimate photos had been sent to an unknown number without her permission, police said.

Following an investigation by Second Precinct Crime Unit officers, police said the photos were determined to have been sent to Von Camper’s phone.

Von Camper was charged with unlawful dissemination or publication of an intimate image, a misdemeanor. In a correction issued by police, authorities said he was also charged with unauthorized use of a computer, also a misdemeanor.

He was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

Police are asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim of Von Camper to contact the Second Precinct Crime Unit at 631-854-8275.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
