A police drone helped Suffolk County officers track down a burglary suspect who fled a Lindenhurst home Monday evening, leading to his arrest after a short foot chase, police said.
First Precinct officers responded to a home on Richmond Avenue at about 7:06 p.m. Aug. 24 after a 911 caller reported a burglary.
The suspect had left before officers arrived, according to police.
Suffolk County Police deployed a Drone as First Responder to search the area. Using information provided by witnesses, detectives operating the drone located the suspect and directed officers on the ground toward him.
Police said officers then pursued the suspect on foot for a short distance before arresting Isaias Miranda, 26, on Kings Avenue at about 7:42 p.m.
Miranda was charged with second-degree burglary and possession of burglar tools.
He was arraigned Aug. 25 at First District Court in Central Islip.
The charges are accusations, and Miranda is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
