Woman Wanted for $538 Shoplifting Theft at Riverhead Marshalls

Riverhead Town Police and Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate a woman accused of stealing merchandise from a Riverhead store last month.

According to authorities, the theft occurred on March 7 at approximately 8:26 p.m. at Marshalls, located at 1762 Old Country Road in Riverhead. Police said the woman took assorted clothing and household items with a total value of $538 before leaving the store.

No description of the suspect has been released.

The case is being investigated as petit larceny, a misdemeanor offense under New York law. While the value of the stolen items falls below the threshold for felony charges, a conviction can still carry potential penalties including fines, probation, or jail time.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
