Nassau County Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in locating a West Hempstead man who is wanted on an assault charge after allegedly failing to appear in court or comply with the terms of his release.
Authorities identified the wanted man as Josmin Alvaro Lopez, 27. He is wanted for third-degree assault, accused of acting with intent to cause physical injury, according to Crime Stoppers.
Lopez is described as a Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes. The incident is listed as having taken place in West Hempstead.
Crime Stoppers said the people featured in its wanted notices are felony and misdemeanor offenders who either live in Nassau County or are accused of committing crimes there. Authorities said those individuals were previously arrested on the listed charges and later failed to appear in court and/or follow the mandates of their release.
Police urged anyone with information on Lopez’s whereabouts to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 1-800-244-TIPS or through nassaucountycrimestoppers.com.
Authorities warned the public not to attempt to apprehend or detain him and to contact police instead.
