Conventions are more than events; they’re an invitation to dive headfirst into your favorite fandoms and bond with fellow fans on epic adventures.

LI TCG Show

The Long Island TCG Show is a must-attend event for trading card game enthusiasts, featuring a wide range of vendors offering everything from Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh to Magic: The Gathering cards. Whether you’re a collector or a player, this event offers the chance to explore both modern and vintage TCG products and connect with fellow fans. Panels, tournaments and more. Cosplay encouraged!

Where: TBD but it will be at a much larger venue than the 2024 show. When: May 3-4, 2025.

CradleCon

One of Long Island’s largest conventions for science fiction, fantasy, anime and comic fans. Find yourself lost in a sea of cosplayers, vendors, panels, games, and special guests. There is a little something for everyone at this convention. Watch our video recap from last year’s event and read our story with plenty of pics.

Where: Cradle of Aviation Museum, Charles Lindbergh Blvd, Garden City. When: May 17-18, 2025.

Trek Long Island 3

Your chance to travel to strange new worlds and immerse yourself in all things Star Trek right here on Long Island. With superstar guests, vendors, panels, and cosplayers from every era of Trek all around, this is sure to be a fascinating event for Trekkies and Trekkers alike. Where: Hyatt Regency Long Island, 1717 Motor Pkwy, Hauppauge. When: May 30 – June 1, 2025.

Maker Faire Long Island 

Technically not a typical con but it sure gives all the feels. The 8th annual show promises to be chock full of everything we geeks love – cosplayers, gadgets, tech, science, and lots of robots. Watch the video we made about Maker Faire Long Island last year and read the recap.

Where: Long Island Explorium, Port Jeff Harbor, 101 East Broadway, Port Jefferson. When: Saturday, June 7, 2025.

4th Annual Sci-Fi Mini Con

The 4th Annual Sci-Fi Mini Con to benefit Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County is coming back again and event organizers are promising great things for the mighty mini con. Expect vendors, guests, and cosplayers galore. To see what it’s like, click here for our recap.

LI Retro Gaming Expo

The Long Island Retro Gaming Expo, home to New York’s premier video game convention, returns to the historic Cradle of Aviation Museum. Special guests, exhibits, and free play!

Where: Cradle of Aviation Museum, Charles Lindbergh Blvd, Garden City. When: August 8-10, 2025.

LI Tropic Con

Called “New York’s pop culture paradise,” this festival focuses on anime and cosplay with a cosplay competition that usually gives away big prizes. The organizers of Tropic Con also run the spooky and cool Moonlight Markets on Long Island, which are worth checking out. (We did!) Long Island’s Doctor Who Convention

This is one of the longest running sci-fi cons on Long Island, this one’s completely dedicated to Doctor Who. Last year, they had not one, but two full-sized TARDISes (TARDI?). Scheduled guests already include the original companion, Carole Ann Ford who played the teenage Susa, the Doctor’s very first companion, Wendy Padbury, who played Zoe, the Doctor’s very second companion, and Jo Martin, who played the Fugitive Doctor in the modern era. Extrava Con

A brand new pop culture con is about to hit the scene on Long Island. Games, movies, superheroes, collectables, comics, cosplay, and more. More info to come soon!

Where: Hilton – Long Island, 598 Broadhollow Road, Melville. When: Saturday, November 15, 2025.

To Be Announced

  • MasticCon – No dates announced yet. Last year it was held in early May.
  • SmithCon – Sadly, the event had to be canceled in 2024 so we’re hoping it comes back.
  • HurriCon – A twice annual con. No 2025 dates announced yet.
  • Eternal Con – No update on this fan favorite con.
