A North Massapequa man has been charged with murder after a 25-year-old woman was found unresponsive inside a home Monday morning, according to Nassau County police.
Officers responded to a residence on North Oak Street at approximately 8:44 a.m. on June 29 after receiving a 911 call requesting an ambulance for a woman who was not breathing.
When officers arrived, they found the 25-year-old woman unresponsive. Police administered CPR before she was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Following what police described as a thorough investigation, detectives arrested Joseph Horner, 27, of North Oak Street, at the scene.
Horner has been charged with second-degree murder.
Police later identified the victim as Victoria Castle, of Massapequa.
Horner was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, June 30, at First District Court in Hempstead.
Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding Castle’s death or a possible motive.
