NORTH BELLPORT, NY — A 43-year-old North Bellport man was shot and killed at Robert Rowley Park Tuesday night, Suffolk County police said.
A 911 caller reported that a man had been shot at the park, located at 500 Patchogue Ave., at about 7:28 p.m. on Sept. 29.
Officers responding to the park found Lonnie Booker suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.
Booker was taken to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead.
Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting.
