Man Shot From Vehicle in Port Jefferson Station

A 21-year-old Wyandanch man was shot in the leg as he walked toward a bar in Port Jefferson Station early Sunday morning, Suffolk County police said.

The shooting occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. July 26 on Wilson Street.

Police said the victim was walking toward a bar on Main Street when a vehicle pulled alongside him. A passenger seated in the rear of the vehicle fired multiple shots, striking the man in the leg.

The victim was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating the shooting.
