Five people were arrested following a violent robbery that stemmed from a dispute at a Levittown residence on Sunday morning, according to the Suffolk County Police Department’s Eighth Squad.
Police said officers responded to a disturbance on Barnyard Lane at approximately 9:40 a.m. on February 1, where they determined a verbal argument between two men escalated into a physical confrontation. Detectives identified the men as Michael Nero, 54, of Levittown, and Matias Marquez, 39, of Elmont.
Investigators said three additional individuals joined the altercation, during which Marquez was allegedly punched and kicked and had his wallet — containing multiple credit cards — taken. During the incident, a 38-year-old woman was struck on the arm with a black metal object, causing redness and swelling, and was later shoved and threatened by Nero, police said.
Authorities said Marquez then entered a gray 2020 Subaru and attempted to strike the other individuals standing in the street, missing them but hitting a parked 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe.
All five individuals were taken into custody without further incident. Police said all defendants and the female victim declined medical treatment at the scene.
The defendants were arraigned Monday, February 2, 2026, at First District Court in Hempstead.
