COCA Bar & Lounge to Replace Rabbit’s Foot in Hicksville

A new chapter is about to begin on South Broadway. COCA Bar & Lounge is set to open at the end of March at 646 S Broadway in Hicksville, transforming the former home of Rabbit’s Foot into a sleek, multicultural destination for food, drinks, and live entertainment.

According to a spokesperson for the restaurant, COCA is designed as an elevated social hub, blending Latin-inspired cuisine, American classics, and Indian flavors in a setting that balances upscale design with a welcoming atmosphere. The space includes on-site parking and a full redesign of both the interior and menu.

Owned by Raj Kumar and Sandeep Bajaj, the venue marks the duo’s first move into hospitality after more than two decades in real estate and finance. The owners said the concept grew out of a shared passion for community-driven dining and nightlife, with a focus on bringing people together through food, cocktails, and music.

Running day-to-day operations is General Manager Yashika Saini, who brings over 10 years of experience managing restaurants and nightlife venues in Toronto. She’s joined by Chris Syed, a partner in several New York City establishments, who is expanding his footprint beyond the city for the first time.

So what’s on the menu? Think a global mix with crowd-pleasing range. Guests can expect dishes like tacos, ceviche, steak, seafood, burgers, and empanadas, alongside traditional Indian bites. The bar program will feature eight signature cocktails, plus specialty drinks debuting during opening weekend brunch.

And yes, brunch is a big part of the plan.

COCA will host themed brunch experiences every weekend, including a Hip Hop Brunch on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a Bollywood Brunch on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., both offering bottomless options, curated menus, and a high-energy vibe. Live music and DJs are also scheduled Thursday through Sunday, positioning the venue as both a dining destination and nightlife spot.

The location itself carries a long history in Hicksville’s bar and restaurant scene. According to historical accounts, the space has housed several establishments over the years, including Center Bar, Stack O’Barley Pub, and Remington’s, before becoming Rabbit’s Foot, a pub concept inspired by classic New York City meeting spots.

Now, with COCA Bar & Lounge stepping in, the address is getting yet another reinvention – this time with a global menu, curated nightlife, and a concept aiming to turn a familiar corner into something entirely new.
