A Manorville man was charged after Suffolk County police said he stabbed an adult family member Saturday afternoon, leaving the victim hospitalized.
According to Suffolk County Police, Tyler Bergen, 28, of Manorville, was charged with Assault in the Second Degree following an incident at his residence on Moriches-Middle Island Road at approximately 3 p.m. on June 6.
Police said Bergen allegedly stabbed an adult male family member during the incident.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Numerous police units responded to the scene, with patrol vehicles observed along Moriches-Middle Island Road as officers secured the area and conducted their investigation.
Online reports from the scene indicated the victim may have suffered injuries to the head and neck, but Suffolk County Police did not confirm those details.
Court records show Bergen was arraigned June 7 in Suffolk County First District Court on one count of Assault in the Second Degree. The charge alleges he caused physical injury with a knife or other cutting instrument.
