Woodmere Restaurant Thief Sought by Police For Stealing Jacket

Police in Nassau County are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect accused of stealing a jacket from a Munchy’s Grill and Bar in Woodmere earlier this year.

According to Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department, the incident occurred on Jan. 16, 2026, at approximately 2:44 p.m. at Munchy’s Grill and Bar, located at 12 Irving Place.

Investigators say the individual entered the restaurant and removed a jacket without permission before leaving the scene. The total value of the stolen item was not disclosed.

The case is being investigated as petit larceny, a misdemeanor offense under New York law that involves the theft of property. While considered a lower-level charge, a conviction can still carry penalties including fines, restitution, and potential jail time.

Authorities have released an image of the suspect and are urging anyone who recognizes the individual or has information about the incident to come forward.
