Woman Steals $500 in Clothing from Riverhead Polo Store, Police Say

It happened on a busy stretch of West Main Street, where shoppers move in and out without a second thought.

Now, police say one of those visits turned into a theft.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Riverhead Town Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman accused of stealing hundreds of dollars in merchandise from the Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on February 14 at approximately 6:07 p.m., when the woman allegedly took assorted clothing valued at about $515 and left the store without paying.

The theft happened along a heavily traveled retail corridor in Riverhead, an area known for its outlet shopping and steady flow of customers.

Investigators are now asking anyone who may recognize the suspect or have information about the incident to come forward.
