Man Picks Up iPhone Meant for Someone Else at Selden UPS Store, Police Say

It was supposed to be a simple delivery. Instead, it turned into a quiet theft inside a busy Selden storefront.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Sixth Precinct officers are asking for the public’s help to identify a man accused of taking a newly delivered iPhone that didn’t belong to him.

According to police, a woman had ordered an iPhone 17 to be delivered to her home. The package was instead delivered to The UPS Store, located at 1070 Middle Country Road in Selden.

On March 3 at approximately 3:35 p.m., a man entered the store and picked up the phone, despite it being intended for someone else.

What should have been a routine pickup quickly turned into a theft, with the suspect walking out of the store with the high-value device.

Investigators are now asking anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the incident to come forward.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, through the P3 Tips mobile app, or online at P3Tips.com. All information will be kept confidential.
