Valley Stream Woman Caught Inside Parked Car, Fights Officers During Arrest, Police Say

A Coney Island woman was arrested after police say she was caught inside a parked vehicle in Valley Stream early Friday morning and became violent while resisting arrest.

According to Nassau County Police Department, Fifth Precinct officers responded to a report of a suspicious woman inside a parked vehicle on Munro Boulevard at approximately 1:35 a.m. on May 8.

Police said officers broadcast a description of the suspect and a Canine Unit officer later located the woman nearby on Munro Boulevard.

During the investigation and arrest, police said the suspect became violent and combative while resisting officers.

Investigators later determined the woman had allegedly taken property from a second vehicle and was found in possession of stolen personal identification and other belongings from a victim.

The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Charmaine Skeen of Coney Island.

She was charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, Petit Larceny, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and Harassment in the Second Degree.

Skeen was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
