A 68-year-old Valley Stream woman was arrested after police said she threw lit matches at a man, threatened to burn down a house and set a clothing item on fire during a domestic disturbance.
Nassau County police said officers responded to a Valley Stream residence at approximately 8:40 p.m. Monday, July 13.
Detectives said Rose Yee had been involved in a verbal argument with a 68-year-old man when the dispute escalated.
Yee allegedly became irate and began throwing lit matches at the man. Police said she also threatened to burn the house down and lit an article of clothing on fire in front of the residence.
Officers located Yee following an investigation and arrested her without further incident, police said. She was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators also determined that Yee allegedly violated an active order of protection.
Yee was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree menacing. She was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday, July 14, at First District Court in Hempstead.
