An 80-year-old North Bellmore man was arrested after police investigating a disturbance at a Wantagh restaurant recovered two handguns from a residence, Nassau County police said.
Police received a 911 call at approximately 7:20 p.m. Sunday, July 19, reporting an argument at a restaurant in Wantagh. The caller told the emergency operator that one of the people involved might have a firearm, according to detectives.
Officers responded to a residence at 2302 Lafayette Street as part of the investigation. Police said two handguns were recovered from the home.
Robert Kellington was arrested without incident.
Kellington was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a firearm. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Hempstead on Aug. 7.
