Two Shot During Mastic Beach Dispute, Gunman Escapes

Two people were shot during an argument Monday night in Mastic Beach, Suffolk County police said.

The shooting happened at approximately 10 p.m. June 1 in front of 96 Woodside Road, according to police. A group of people had been arguing when a man drew a handgun and fired several shots at two people involved, police said.

The shooter fled the scene.

Police said the victims, a 25-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating.
