Suffolk County Police are investigating a shooting that injured two men who were driving on the Sagtikos State Parkway in Brentwood early Friday morning.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 4 a.m. on March 13 as the two victims, both 24 years old and related to one another, were traveling northbound in separate vehicles about a quarter mile north of Pine Aire Drive.
Detectives said the men were shot by an occupant of another vehicle while driving on the parkway.
After the shooting, one of the victims drove to the Suffolk County Police Second Precinct in Huntington. He was then transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of a gunshot wound to his lower back.
The second victim drove himself to Huntington Hospital, where he was treated for gunshot wounds to his wrist and thigh.
Police said both men suffered injuries that are considered non-life-threatening.
Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
