COMMACK, N.Y. — Two home heating fuel companies were cited for violations Wednesday after safety inspections of fuel delivery trucks in Commack, according to Suffolk County Police Department.
Police said Motor Carrier Safety Section officers, working with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Police and the Suffolk County Department of Weights and Measures, inspected four home heating fuel trucks on January 21.
During the inspections, one company was cited for broken meter seals. A second company was cited for multiple safety violations, and its vehicle was placed out of service after investigators determined the driver’s hazardous materials endorsement had expired.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
