Nassau County police are asking for the public’s help in locating Tony Beckford, who is wanted in connection with a shoplifting and grand larceny case in East Garden City.
According to police, Beckford is wanted on allegations of shoplifting and fourth-degree grand larceny involving property valued at more than $1,000. Authorities said the incident took place in East Garden City.
Police described Beckford as a 31-year-old Black man with black hair and brown eyes. He is listed as 6 feet tall and 175 pounds.
Nassau County police warned the public not to attempt to apprehend or detain him. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police. Authorities said messages can be forwarded anonymously.
The case was highlighted as part of the department’s #MugshotMonday outreach. A criminal accusation is not a conviction, and anyone wanted by police is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
