Syosset Teen Gets 12 Years for Fatally Stabbing 15-Year-Old Boy at West Babylon Party

A Syosset teenager was sentenced Wednesday to 12 years in prison for fatally stabbing a 15-year-old boy during a house party in West Babylon last year, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced.

Aiden Zachary, 18, pleaded guilty in October to first-degree manslaughter in the death of Liam Delemo, who was stabbed during an altercation at a party on Nov. 3, 2025.

According to prosecutors, Zachary, who was 17 at the time, arrived uninvited at a large house party in West Babylon at approximately 10 p.m.

After being asked to leave, Zachary became involved in an altercation with Delemo. During the confrontation, Zachary pulled out a knife and stabbed the 15-year-old in the abdomen and arm before fleeing, prosecutors said.

Delemo was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Zachary was arrested on Nov. 10, 2025, one week after the fatal stabbing.

On Oct. 15, 2026, Zachary pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, a class B violent felony, before Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen Kerr.

On Nov. 4, Kerr sentenced Zachary to 12 years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision.

“This case is nothing short of tragic. The defendant’s violent behavior will follow him, and affect the lives of multiple families, long after his sentence is served,” Tierney said. “We hope the young victim’s loved ones find a measure of solace in knowing that justice was served.”

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Sheetal Shetty of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office Homicide Bureau.

Detective Frankie Sierra of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Homicide Squad conducted the investigation.

Zachary was represented by attorney Jacon Kaplan.
