WEST BABYLON, N.Y. — Suffolk County Police have arrested a 17-year-old from Syosset in connection with the fatal stabbing of a West Babylon teenager during a house party earlier this month.
According to police, Homicide Squad detectives charged the 17-year-old male, whose name is being withheld due to his age, with second-degree murder in the death of 15-year-old Liam Delemo. The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
Authorities said the incident occurred on Monday, November 3, 2025, around 10:25 p.m. at a home on Carlton Road in West Babylon, where an estimated 90 to 100 teenagers had gathered for a party. During the event, a fight broke out, and Delemo was stabbed.
Delemo, a resident of West Babylon, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not released additional details regarding the motive or circumstances leading to the altercation.
Suffolk County Police emphasized that a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
