A Freeport man was issued appearance tickets after Nassau County police seized electronic gambling machines and more than $4,000 in cash from a Roosevelt fish market during a quality-of-life initiative Wednesday night, police said.
According to Nassau County police, Strategic Response Team officers responded to Nassau Fish Market, located at 245 Nassau Road, at approximately 8:55 p.m. on May 20 to conduct a licensed premises inspection.
During the investigation, officers found four electronic gambling machines inside the business, police said. The machines were seized along with $4,134 in U.S. currency recovered from inside the devices.
Police identified the defendant as Rafael Osorio, 29, of Freeport.
Osorio was issued appearance tickets for violations of New York State Alcoholic Beverage Control Law and Town of Hempstead Places of Public Assembly license requirement violations, according to police.
The appearance tickets are returnable to First District Court in Hempstead on June 29.
