Nassau County police are searching for a 26-year-old man wanted in connection with a case involving child sexual abuse material in Farmingdale.
Matthew Purcell is wanted for possession of material depicting sexual performances by children younger than 16, according to a Nassau County Police Department wanted poster.
Police identified Farmingdale as the location of the incident but did not provide additional details about the allegations or when the incident occurred.
Purcell is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.
Police released a photograph of Purcell as part of their #MugshotMonday campaign and are asking the public for information about his whereabouts.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Nassau County police through the department’s social media accounts. Police said messages can be submitted anonymously. Authorities warned the public not to attempt to apprehend or detain Purcell.
