A 36-year-old man was arrested 23 minutes after allegedly robbing a TD Bank in Bay Shore on Friday morning, Suffolk County police said.
Raymond Peruggi, who police said has no fixed address, was charged with third-degree robbery following the Oct. 16 incident.
According to police, a man entered the TD Bank at 479 Montauk Highway and handed a teller a note demanding cash.
The suspect fled on foot heading west at approximately 10:24 a.m., police said.
At 10:47 a.m., Suffolk County Police Third Precinct patrol officers spotted a man matching the suspect’s description in front of 403 East Main Street in Bay Shore and arrested him.
Major Case Unit detectives charged Peruggi with third-degree robbery. Police said he was also arrested on three outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
Peruggi was scheduled to be held overnight at the Third Precinct before his arraignment Saturday, Oct. 17, at First District Court in Central Islip.
Police did not disclose how much money was taken during the robbery.
The charges are allegations, and Peruggi is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
