A Brentwood man who owns a Huntington Station restaurant was cited after authorities conducted a State Liquor Authority inspection prompted by a community complaint, Suffolk County police said.
The inspection took place at 11:35 p.m. Friday, May 29, at Amigos Tavern, located at 1789 New York Avenue in Huntington Station.
Police said Second Precinct Crime Section officers conducted the inspection with the New York State Liquor Authority, Suffolk County Department of Health, Town of Huntington Fire Marshal and Town of Huntington Ordinance Inspector.
During the inspection, authorities observed numerous SLA and Health Code violations, including patrons actively using hookahs inside the business, police said.
The Town of Huntington Ordinance Inspector issued six Building Code violations.
The restaurant owner, Alberto Grullon, 34, of Brentwood, was cited for four Alcoholic Beverage Control Law violations and 16 Health Code violations, police said.
Grullon is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on June 18.
The New York State Liquor Authority and Suffolk County Board of Health are continuing investigations into the establishment.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
