A Hauppauge man was arrested after Suffolk County police said he sexually abused a 12-year-old girl he met through social media.

Special Victims Section detectives began investigating after receiving a tip that the girl had been abused by a man she met online.

Police allege Jonathan Pak, 33, abused the girl inside a van parked in a lot on Crooked Hill Road in Commack in December 2025.

Investigators said Pak contacted the girl through Snapchat using the username “loudesttwhisper.” Police said he also used the name Jason on the platform.

Pak, of Kurt Lane in Hauppauge, turned himself in Thursday, July 16, at the Suffolk County Police Department’s Fourth Precinct.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. Pak was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case, or anyone who believes they may also be a victim, to contact the Special Victims Section at 631-852-6531.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, using the P3 Tips app or visiting P3Tips.com. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 if their information leads to an arrest.

Pak’s name was corrected by police after it was listed incorrectly in the department’s original release.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
