PLAINVIEW, NY — Two Florida men were arrested Thursday night after a Narcotics Vice Squad investigation led to the seizure of more than 300 kilograms of suspected cocaine in Plainview, police said.
According to detectives, members of the Narcotics Vice Squad, with assistance from the Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT), conducted an investigation on January 29, 2026, at approximately 8:54 p.m. that resulted in the recovery of 312 kilograms of a substance believed to be cocaine.
Police said Michael Viera, 40, of 600 Integra Dunes Circle in DeLand, Florida, and Daniel Santana, 35, of 1675 10th Avenue in DeLand, Florida, were taken into custody without incident.
Both men are charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. They were arraigned Sunday, February 1, 2026, at First District Court in Hempstead.
As with all criminal cases, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
