Mastic Beach Man Charged After Shirley Stabbing Seriously Injures 51-Year-Old

A Mastic Beach man was arrested after police said he stabbed a 51-year-old man during an argument in Shirley on Sunday afternoon.

Suffolk County Police said Anthony Thompson, 25, was arguing with the man on West Parkview Drive at about 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 6 when Thompson allegedly stabbed him.

The victim was taken by private vehicle to NYU Langone Hospital Suffolk in Patchogue with serious injuries, police said.

Thompson was charged with first-degree assault. Police said he would be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 7 at First District Court in Central Islip.

The investigation is continuing.
