Police Seek Person Who Set Box Truck on Fire in Central Islip

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — Suffolk County police are asking for the public’s help identifying and locating a person accused of setting a white box truck on fire outside a Central Islip business.

The fire was set at approximately 3:30 a.m. May 24 at Consolidated Bulk Carriers Inc., located at 43 Windsor Place, police said.

The vehicle was a 2014 International truck, according to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Arson Section detectives.

Police released a surveillance image showing a person near the truck and posted video of the incident on the Suffolk County Police Department’s YouTube channel. The video is titled “Wanted for Central Islip Arson 26C0344738.”

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
