Freeport Inn Prostitution Sting Leads to Arrest, ICE Custody

A New Jersey woman was arrested during an undercover prostitution investigation at a Freeport motel Thursday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

According to the Nassau County Police Department Narcotics Vice Squad, detectives conducted an undercover investigation on May 21 at the Freeport Inn and Marina, located at 445 South Main Street in Freeport. Investigators said they determined prostitution activity was taking place at the location.

Police arrested Santa Y. Lopez, 35, of Guttenberg, New Jersey, without incident.

Lopez was charged with prostitution and later released on an appearance ticket.

Authorities said additional investigation determined Lopez was illegally in the United States and subject to removal proceedings. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents took custody of her following the arrest.

Police did not release additional details about the investigation.
