Police responded to a 911 call reporting a body floating in the Long Island Sound near Lloyd Harbor Road at approximately 7:45 p.m. on April 13. Upon arrival, officers recovered the body of an adult female from the water.
The woman’s identity has not yet been determined. Authorities said the cause of death is pending an examination by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Homicide Squad detectives are leading the investigation, though officials have not yet indicated whether foul play is suspected.
