Lawrence Man Tracked Sister With GPS Before Crossbow Attack Outside West Avenue Home

Authorities allege that 21-year-old Samy Sedhom waited outside his family’s home on West Avenue on the night of February 13, watching and waiting.

According to investigators, Sedhom had already taken steps weeks earlier to track his sister’s movements, allegedly placing a GPS device inside her car after ongoing disputes inside the home.

Just after 9:20 p.m., as his sister pulled into the driveway and entered the detached garage She noticed his car parked across the street.

Moments later, as she entered the code to close the garage door, prosecutors say Sedhom fired a crossbow.

The arrow struck her in the head.

The impact caused severe injuries to her ear, cheek, and face, leaving a deep six-inch wound. She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where doctors performed emergency surgery to stop the bleeding.

Then, in a move that would become key to the case, authorities say Sedhom drove a short distance away to the intersection of West Avenue and Bayview Avenue and discarded the weapon.

Police later recovered the crossbow.

That wasn’t all.

When detectives searched his bedroom that same night, they found an empty crossbow box matching the weapon, along with a katana sword and electronic devices. Investigators say those items helped piece together what they believe was a premeditated attack.

Prosecutors allege Sedhom began planning the assault as early as December 2025, purchasing a crossbow, hunting arrows, and the GPS tracker used to follow his sister’s movements.

He was arrested the following day by Nassau County Police.

Sedhom has now been indicted on multiple charges, including attempted murder and assault. He pleaded not guilty and remains in custody. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.

The case centers on a chilling question: how a dispute inside a home escalated into what authorities describe as a calculated, near-fatal ambush just steps from the front door.

Sedhom is due back in court on April 30.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
