Two Baldwin residents were arrested after a 28-year-old woman was grazed by gunfire inside a home during an altercation late Tuesday night, Nassau County police said.
Officers responded to a Baldwin residence at about 11:50 p.m. Sept. 22 following a report of shots fired, police said.
Investigators said Alfredo Gonzalez, 43, of Baldwin, had been involved in an argument with a 25-year-old man outside the home before pushing his way through the front door and displaying a gun.
Gonzalez allegedly fired one shot, grazing the 28-year-old woman in the leg and striking a kitchen stove, police said. The woman was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.
Police said Gonzalez then fled in a vehicle driven by Donna Perez, 47, of Baldwin.
Investigators, with assistance from Suffolk County police, later located the vehicle in Suffolk County and arrested Gonzalez and Perez.
Gonzalez was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal use of a firearm, first-degree attempted assault, second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.
Perez was charged with second-degree hindering prosecution.
Both were scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 23 in First District Court in Hempstead.
