A 19-year-old Freeport woman was arrested after police said she punched, shoved and repeatedly kicked a 20-year-old woman until she lost consciousness during an altercation in Westbury early Thursday.
Nassau County police said Ceinaa Jayde Adena Curtis, of Maple Place in Freeport, was involved in a verbal argument with the victim at about 12:58 a.m. Sept. 3.
The argument escalated when Curtis allegedly punched the woman in the face multiple times, shoved her to the ground and kicked her numerous times, police said.
The victim lost consciousness and Curtis fled the scene, according to detectives.
Officers located both women a short time later and arrested Curtis without further incident, police said.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. Curtis was also taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Curtis was charged with second-degree assault. She was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
