13-Year-Old Seriously Injured After E-Bike Collides With Deer in East Islip

Suffolk County Police are investigating an e-bike crash in East Islip on Thursday evening that left a 13-year-old boy with serious injuries.

According to police, the teen was riding an e-bike northbound on Woodland Drive near Gwendolyn Place at approximately 5:42 p.m. when a deer entered the roadway. The e-bike struck the animal, causing the boy to be thrown from the bike.

First responders transported the teenager to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was treated for serious injuries. Police said the e-bike has been impounded for a safety check as part of the investigation.
