A Cedarhurst man charged in a fatal Woodmere crash that claimed the life of a Valley Stream resident has been ordered held without bail following his arraignment in Nassau County court.
Brayan Romero Flores, 24, pleaded not guilty on May 28 to charges including Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Criminally Negligent Homicide, Assault in the Second Degree and Reckless Driving.
The charges stem from a crash that occurred on March 19, 2026, at approximately 7:53 a.m. in Woodmere.
According to Nassau County police, Michael Kreindler, 39, of Valley Stream, was driving a 2023 Tesla on University Street when he made a left turn onto Branch Boulevard and collided with a 2019 Honda Accord operated by Romero Flores.
Both drivers were transported to a local hospital following the crash. Kreindler was initially listed in critical condition.
Police later announced that Kreindler died from injuries suffered in the collision.
Romero Flores was arrested on May 28 and charged in connection with the crash. During his arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead, he pleaded not guilty to all charges.
According to court records, Romero Flores was remanded without bail following the arraignment.
His next court appearance is scheduled for June 4 before Nassau County Court Judge Joy M. Watson.
The case remains pending.
