A 44-year-old Wyandanch woman has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for her role in a bank fraud and identity theft scheme involving counterfeit military identification cards and U.S. passport cards, federal prosecutors announced Oct. 13.
Jennifer Poliandro was sentenced to 36 months in prison following her conviction for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York.
Federal prosecutors said Poliandro participated in a scheme in which victims’ personal information was obtained and used to create fraudulent identification documents. Those documents were then used to withdraw or attempt to withdraw money from banks in Western New York.
The fraudulent transactions occurred between Feb. 18 and Feb. 26, 2026.
On Feb. 18, Poliandro used a counterfeit military identification card at a Lake Shore Bank branch in Fredonia to withdraw $7,800 from another person’s home equity line of credit, prosecutors said.
Authorities estimated the scheme’s combined actual and intended losses at between $15,000 and $40,000.
Poliandro was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft and sentenced to three years in federal prison.
