Suffolk County police are investigating after a woman’s body was discovered in a wooded area of Manorville Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, Seventh Precinct patrol officers were searching the area when they found the body of an adult female on Connecticut Avenue, south of River Road, at approximately 3:21 p.m.
The woman’s identity has not yet been released. Officials said her cause of death will be determined during an autopsy by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Following a preliminary investigation, detectives believe the death appears to be criminal in nature. The Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad is leading the investigation.
