A 42-year-old woman was arrested on prostitution and felony unauthorized practice charges following a raid at a Middle Island massage parlor Friday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.
Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers, working with the Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal and Code Enforcement Inspectors, conducted an investigation at Evolve Spa, 831 Middle Country Road, at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 28.
Police arrested Qin Zhao, 42, of New York, New York, during the investigation.
Zhao was charged with two counts of unauthorized practice of a profession, a felony, and prostitution, a misdemeanor.
Police did not provide additional details about the allegations or what investigators found during the raid.
Zhao was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
The charges are accusations, and Zhao is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
