Woman Charged With Felony After Amityville Massage Parlor Investigation

A woman faces felony and misdemeanor charges following an investigation at an Amityville massage parlor that police said was prompted by community complaints.

Suffolk County police said First Precinct Crime Section officers investigated Howells Foot Spa at 365 Broadway with the Amityville Police Department and the Village of Amityville building inspector at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 28.

Police arrested Yun Lu, 45, of Flushing, who was identified as an employee of the business.

Lu was charged with felony unauthorized practice of a profession and misdemeanor prostitution.

The Village of Amityville is also expected to issue summonses to the business owners for alleged building code violations, police said.

Lu was released with a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and Lu is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
