Valley Stream Man Arrested After Safe Containing Cash Stolen From Cedarhurst Shoe Store

A Valley Stream man was arrested Tuesday after police said a large safe containing cash was stolen from a Cedarhurst shoe store last month.

Frank Cirillo, 54, of Valley Stream, was arrested at approximately 7:30 p.m. on July 14 following an investigation by the Nassau County Police Department’s Major Case Squad.

Detectives said a person entered Jildor Shoes at 473 Central Ave. on June 25 and removed a large safe containing U.S. currency before fleeing.

Police did not disclose how much money was inside the safe.

Investigators identified Cirillo as a suspect and took him into custody without incident, according to police.

Cirillo was charged with third-degree burglary. He was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, July 15, at First District Court in Hempstead.

The charge is an allegation, and Cirillo is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
